Named after the tantalizing spice star anise; the restaurant is a dramatic symphony of vivid moods, hues and flavours This high energy 24 x 7 international all day dining exudes elegance, vibrancy and epicurean passion by showcasing its World cuisine in addition to Oriental and North Western Frontier specialties. An informal 100 seat restaurant with swift and stylish service; serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks during interim periods, it also displays the most elaborate buffet in town and thus is perfect for a light meal as well as a relaxing full dining experience.
Design Philosophy –
Located at the Lobby level, overlooking the pool, ANISE design symbolizes a minimalist and contemporary feel, pristine and cool interiors which are relaxed and welcoming. The restaurant offers seating in the main dining area in front of the theatrical kitchen or along the windows to one side overlooking the pool. The rich flooring and the wooden furniture creates a feeling of relaxed comfort.

ANISE introduces an interactive and energy-driven dining concept, celebrating the vibrant flavours and traditions of cuisine from around the globe. An unrivaled experience in smart casual dining the restaurant has, an ala carte world cuisine menu and an interactive food theatre were master chefs creating epicurean wonders. Savor the fresh approach to food and cooking styles from Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Japan. Or indulge in the traditional Arabic, Dutch, Italian and Mediterranean fare the gastronomic options are endless and divine. Alternatively, experiment with Indian sensations or sample the purity of coastal fresh seafood, with eclectic fusion using local and seasonal fresh ingredients.
Steaming idli’s, crisp dosas – a local favourite, array of freshly baked breakfast rolls, honey roasted ham, salami and chorizo, thin crusted multi grain pizza, health sprouts, warm freshly baked 4 flavor breads with dips and spread, assortment of mini Indian breads with every meal, the delectable array of cuisines is well complemented with the all new beverage menu of seasonal fresh fruit thick shakes and smoothies with special emphasis on exotic fruits, single origin coffees, global teas, refreshing tea cocktails laced with heady specialty coffees and zesty martinis. SOUTHERN SPICE
The restaurant evokes a rustic ambience with Traditional artefacts from South India like long beaked Kindis (brass water jugs with long spouts) and Kanjeevaram brocade saree borders used as table runners, jasmine, napkins made the traditional Kerala tortha, and traditional copper vessel drinking cups from Kanchipuram district. The restaurant also features a private dining room. Allepey fish curry, Kohli Vartha Kozhambu, Mamsam Koora, Kori Kempu bazule, and the South Indian Thalis are house specialties.
PREGO
Decorated in a warm and contemporary style with elegant white table cloths, lead crystal glassware and silver cutlery, Prego is the newest addition to Taj Coromandel’s culinary repertoire. White linen and shimmering crystal during the day transform into candlelight with subdued lighting at night. Combined with the earth-toned upholstery and flooring, the restaurant emanates a very relaxed yet chic ambience.
Italian imported cheese and cold cuts combined with the freshest ingredients ensure an authentic experience, while a show kitchen adds a visual element to the experience. Along with this show kitchen, where guests can see chef making antipasti, baking fresh bread and finishing sumptuous desserts, the restaurant also features one of the finest wine selections in the country. Specializing in Italian wines, it houses more than 75 labels from Italy, as well as an equally impressive collection from across the world.
