Hotel Direction

Airways are not so popular mode of transport. Railway system is either absent or is not very popular. Most travel in Sikkim is done by bus or jeep or other vehicle. Shared vehicle is available. Rates are negotiable and vehicles are limited. Trekking is also a popular option.

September 15th to June 15th is always nice to visit here. Monsoons are severe and please keep a day or two extra in the package tour. A day may be lost due to landslide etc. There is many a bypass road yet it is advisable to keep a couple of day extra. Monsoon is enjoyable in some selected places. November to January is cold and it might snow. The people are basically hospitable and warm. Tourism is one of there main source of income. We will be there for any help.

How to reach Gangtok by Air: The nearest airport is Bagdogra in West Bengal and is 124 kms (about 4 hrs drive) from Gangtok, which is connected, with all the major cities in India. You can also avail the helicopter service operated by the Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation daily from Bagdogra to Gangtok, which takes about 20 mins.

How to reach Gangtok by Rail: The nearest railway station is at New Jalpaiguri, which is about 125 kms from Gangtok(about 4 hrs). New Jalpaiguri is well connected with all the cities in India.

How to reach Gangtok by Road: Gangtok is connected by road with Siliguri, Darjeeling and Kalimpong by the National Highway 31 A. There are regular Sikkim state transport buses between Gangtok and Siliguri.Private buses, jeeps and taxis can also be hired from Siliguri and Bagdogra
