Hotel Aranya Nivas Thekkady

Built in 1950, the Aranya Nivas is a KTDC property and in fact the only one in Thekkady inside the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. The deep woods surrounding the hotel makes the hotel appear more in tune with nature. The stone walls compliment the growing creepers, wild flowers and the hustle and bustle of the monkeys, squirrels and thousands of birds around the place. The wooden floor of the lobby is polished to shine and the strong smell of eucalyptus oil fills the air. Red sofas are placed on the right, while the reception is on the left. Another small lobby is connected to the main lobby which is looks pleasant with the glass windows.
